You don't need to be concerned with right and wrong; nor do you need to be concerned with being correct or incorrect. God has abandoned those things to the arrogant, the wealthy, the serpents and their religions. You will never know God by doing what is 'right' or 'correct'.
Be concerned with the truth; that which is true and observable. Be truthful with your words and with your deeds, then you may be allowed to find God (this is God's universe, and nothing happens unless God says 'OK').
Why wouldn't God want you to know God? Unlike the doctrines of heaven, where all of those awful behaviors and deeds of yours mysteriously vanish in heaven, to know the living God is to know eternal life.
You are on Earth who you will be in God's Garden. There is no mysterious personality change. You will be yourself, and God finds this unacceptable, just as God found our ancestors unacceptable.
If you want to know God, you'll do best to end your trust in holy books - they have never served our ancestors any good. They have not caused the Earth to shine brightly in this universe. Literally, nothing good has flourished on the Earth because of religion.
Your religion may help the poor, but in these last 2000 years, when has your religion put a complete end to poverty? Nothing good has flourished here because of religion. This is the obvious truth.
